HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A CLASS?
From our website click “Sign up!”.
Our classes will also be posted regularly on Facebook for informative purposes but sign up occurs via our website and the form found in the “Sign up!” tab. We unfortunately cannot accommodate drop ins at this time. All classes must be reserved.
WHERE DOES THE YOGA TAKE PLACE?
Lone pine has agreed to be our venue for this season so a majority of our classes will be hosted there at their facility (23041 Highway 97, Orondo WA. 98843) We have several options at this facility and will do our best to place signs out as well as keep you updated on the registry where class will be specifically due to weather.
DO YOU HAVE RESTROOMS?
Yes. We have a fully functional restroom! And a port-a-potty!
DO I NEED TO BRING A MAT?
No, we provide mats for all students. If you have a favorite mat you would like to bring, you can but we encourage you use ours as there can be some wear and tear from the goats’ hooves on your personal mat.
DO YOU HAVE WATER?
Yes. You can bring your own water and refilling your bottle out of the tap is free. Lone Pine also has a great selection of refreshments available.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN A CLASS?
We try to keep it small (12 or under) so that we have a good ratio of goats to guests.
WILL THE GOATS POOP OR PEE?
Goats are just farm animals walking and playing among you. They are not trained to not poop or pee, they just do it at will, but NORMALLY they do NOT have an accident directly on you. Not saying it could not happen, it is just rare. It could possibly be in the grass around you, but they have very small pills very lightweight and it is easily brushed away.
DO THE GOATS HAVE HORNS?
Some of them do, but most do not. You can be poked by a horn. They do not head butt (only each other for play or attention). Our animals are hand raised and have human interaction on a daily basis.
ARE THE GOATS CLEAN AND HEALTHY?
Yes. We keep them very healthy and groomed. They all have collars on for easy handling if they get too much in your space.
HOW OLD ARE THE GOATS?
We have all different ages. It is impossible to keep babies all the time (as much as I would love to) because they don’t stay little forever. We are not a facility that uses baby goats and then sends them to market. You may want to research this. Most of our goats are a miniature dairy breed and are much smaller than most goats. We also have fiber goats (Angora) which are a very docile and loving breed, and a lamancha doe who is larger but our herd queen and watches over the rest of the herd. The babies are fun, but the older goats are more chill and like to be petted and loved on, not quite as hyper. They all have different personalities. We do plan to add a few babies each fall and spring to ramp up the fun!
WILL THE GOATS BITE OR HURT ME?
The goats want your attention, and it is second nature to a goat to nibble. You really cannot be around a goat without them nibbling; it is their way of saying “Hey. . . I’m here and I want some attention.” They WILL nibble at your fingers, your clothes and ESPECIALLY your hair (so good idea to wear it up). Hoodie strings are their favorite. They are jealous of each other and may butt one another vying for your attention. If a goat jumps on you, they could accidentally and unintentionally scratch you with their hooves. This is why I strongly recommend a T-shirt covering your back and leggings or yoga pants (not shorts) and above all putting your hair up. They all do have collars, so you may use their collar and redirect them if they are too much in your personal space.
I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT YOGA . . . BUT I STILL WANT TO SEE THE GOATS.
These yoga classes are beginner style and do not require extensive yoga knowledge. We also have special or private events available that do not have to involve yoga OR can involve a more extensive yoga class with a group of friends. Just come, wing it and learn, we all have to start somewhere!
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?
Children ages 6 and over who are planning to fully participate in the yoga class with their guardian in attendance are welcome at Feisty Mountain Goat Yoga LLC classes. The guardian will have to sign the waiver for any child under 18. We do not have additional staff that can watch unsupervised children.
